I was wrapping up a visit with a family when the pre-schooler, who was very friendly, emerged from a different part of the house. He was moving quickly, pushing two plastic cars with a smile on his face. He quickly moved around us and back into the part of the house from which he came.
As I left the house I thought about how quickly he was moving with thse cars. I also thought about how quickly time is moving. It’s already July! The church’s July calendar is full of opportunities! Worship on July 4, Ohio mission trip (July 10-16), worship and baptism at the lake (July 25) and children’s camp (July 26-29). Wow!
During this busy month planning is underway for Awana (August 15).
What is Awana? Awana stands for “approved workers are not ashamed.” It is based on 2 Timothy 2:15. Why Awana? Awana’s goal is to empower our church family to reach our community for Christ and instill a Biblical worldview. Many people who come to Christ do so as a child. Also, Awana helps people form a Biblical worldview. Barna’s research group shows that most people’s worldview is formed by age 13 and that only 10% of today’s teenagers have a Biblical worldview. Our worldview shapes our values, morals, lifestyle choices and beliefs. Awana is a great opportunity for our church family!!!! Let’s pray and all get behind Awana!!!!

Splashtacular Summer 2010
For Ages 3 – Grade 6
Wednesdays this Summer at 7:00pm beginning on June 2
Sundays this Summer at 6:00pm beginning on June 27
You will be learning Thirteen Very Cool Stories from the Bible and have five Summer Splashes!
All the pool parties will be on Monday nights on June 21, June 28, July 19,
July 26 and August 9 from 6:00-8:00.
